Glasgow Caledonian University’s (GCU) Glasgow School for Business and Society has achieved the prestigious international EPAS accreditation for a period of three years for its BA Business Programme Set and MSc International Fashion Marketing programmes.
The University is one of only 69 institutions to have been recognised by EPAS (European Foundation for Management Development Programme Accreditation Scheme). As of June 2015, 94 programmes delivered in 31 countries have been awarded EPAS accreditation.
This endorsement provides GCU students with an assurance that their qualification is among the best in the world.
EPAS evaluation involves international comparison and benchmarking, during which an extensive range of factors are considered to ensure academic rigour and practical relevance. These include programme design, teaching quality, the student learning experience, internship and international opportunities, quality of work submitted and graduate outcomes, and commitment to the ERS (ethics, responsibility and sustainability) agenda.

The BA Business Programme Set has 10 programmes, which provide general and specialist business education to 28 per cent of all Glasgow School for Business and Society undergraduates. The MSc International Fashion Marketing is also delivered at GCU London.
Professor David Asch, Associate Director, Quality Services and EPAS Director, said: “Programme Accreditation from EFMD is one of the most effective ways to certify the quality of a programme in the field of business and management. The EPAS accreditation process involves an extensive self-assessment, a visit of an international peer review team and a very experienced jury evaluating the assessment and findings of the peer review team to determine whether the programme should be granted accreditation.
