Dr Edgar is Professor of Strategy and Business Transformation and member of the Department of Business Management at Glasgow School for Business and Society. His main areas of research and teaching are in the field of strategic management, specifically dynamic capabilities, business uncertainty and complexity, and innovation. He has worked with a range of organisations on Business Transformation projects in particular relating to e-Business strategies, innovation, and knowledge or talent management. Professor Edgar’s interest in innovation relates to innovation as an element of dynamic capabilities.
He has a wide range of academic experience from programme development to international collaboration and an excellent network of colleagues in both academia and industry.
Professor Edgar has successfully supervised 15 PhDs and currently has 17 more PhD students. He is currently on the editorial board of ten journals and regularly reviews for a further twelve. In addition, he regularly contributes to conference organising committees and acts as a reviewer for a range of conferences, including the Academy of Management annual meeting.
