Dr Susan Ogden is a Senior Lecturer in Management and is currently Head of the Department of Management and HRM. Her main teaching and research interests relate to strategic and operations management, including strategic performance management, business excellence and continuous improvement in the public and not-for-profit sectors. In addition she also has research interests in career development particularly in relation to gender issues. Since completing her PhD in 1994, she has remained an active researcher publishing in a wide range of journals (e.g International Journal of Public Sector Management, Public Money and Management, Employee Relations, TQM and Business Excellence, Career Development International, Women in Management Review), as well as contributing to books and conferences. Susan provides external consultancy and management development in the area of strategic performance management and improvement. She has also co-led a three year European Social Fund project examining issues relating to gender balance in management.
Susan is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy/Advanced HE. She is also a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and served on the CMI Scotland Board from 2013 to 2016.
Susan is an experienced PhD supervisor and PhD/ProfD examiner.
