Stan Paliwoda

His first academic post was part-time at the University of Westminster while completing a PhD at Cranfield University. In 1980, he moved to the Manchester School of Management, University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (now subsumed within the Manchester Business School), leaving in 1990 for a Chair at the University of Calgary, Canada, where he developed the PhD programme and in 1991-9, was appointed Coordinator of the Canadian Management Project in Poland, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to transfer the Calgary MBA programme to the Warsaw School of Economics, Poland.

In 1999, he moved back to the UK and to a Chair in International Marketing at the University of Birmingham and in 2004 to Glasgow and to a Chair at Strathclyde where he remained until 2012. He is editor of two academic journals and on a number of journal editorial boards. His interests are in international marketing and business to business marketing and presently writing in the area of intellectual property. He was appointed Professor of Marketing (part-time) at GCU in October 2015.
