This Professional Doctorate, Doctorate Business Administration and Doctorate Management complements existing career commitments while developing industry relevant research. A professional focused alternative to the PhD.
The Professional Doctorate is a part-time programme which offers professionals an exciting and challenging alternative to a traditional PhD. It has been designed to support the personal, vocational and intellectual development of professionals, equipping you to take demanding leadership roles in an era of evidence-based joint practice.
Students admitted to the Professional Doctorate programmes are normally middle to senior professionals within their organisations. The programme will enable you to conduct research at doctoral level that is relevant both to your professional interests and your organisational context.
All students applying to the Professional Doctorate programme will be shortlisted and interviewed by the programme admissions panel. During this interview the level of work commitment and students’ aspirations will be discussed; evidence of managerial support for the student will also be required. Online interviews will be available for overseas students.
Applicants will normally be expected to have a 2.1 honours degree or equivalent plus five years relevant experience. If English is not your first language we require an Academic IELTS score of 6.5 with no element less than 6, or a recognised qualification taught in English awarded within the last two years.
International students will require a Short Term Study Visa to attend the block teaching sessions. Please contact our Visa Immigration Support and Advice team for further information on how to apply for this visa.
Informal enquiries are welcomed by the Director of Programme. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Our Professional Doctorate (Prof D) programme begins in January each year. Prof D applications must be received by 31 October to be considered for entry in January of the following year.
