Julie_300pxWhat kind of challenge are you planning to do and why?

I’m going to do my Kiltwalk over a number of long walks in the country with my dog, Bunty. We’ve worked out that several 5ks will cover the 13 miles we would have walked at the actual event, so we’ve been reccying good routes round about Glasgow. Bunty will take as many walks as she can get, so she’s well up for this!

What motivated you to take part – either personal or philanthropic?

I have been so impressed with the resilience and good humour of all of our students at GCU but I realise how much harder the pandemic must have been for students who find themselves in more challenging situations. I hope that the money raised by all the Kiltwalkers will be able to give them a bit of respite from their Covid concerns.

It’s also been good fun connecting with my GCU Kiltwalk buddies and hearing about what their training looks like and competing to get our donations as high as possible. Finally, doing some really lengthy walks with the dog will, I hope, help shift some of the extra Lockdown weight!

How are you preparing for your challenge?

Finding nice long country walks and hoping for sunny, dry days. Bunty will be wearing a tartan collar for our Kiltwalks!
