Growing up in care has made Chantel determined to provide stability for her own children. She is proud to be pursuing her ambition of becoming an Occupational Therapist with support from her Common Good Scholarship.
Chantel has overcome many challenges in the past few years, learning to use a computer and textbooks for the very first time. Her hard work and determination earned her an A grade at college granting her a place on GCU’s competitive BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy course.
When I heard the news that I had been chosen for this funding I actually cried because I couldn’t believe something had gone right for me. Knowing people care and want to help has given me the inspiration to work hard and not let anyone, including myself, down. This shows me that there are good people in the world willing to help people like me. I could not be any more grateful.
