Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) delivers academic excellence to 20,000 students with a defining mission as the University for the Common Good. We have campuses in Glasgow, London and New York and deliver programmes in Oman, Bangladesh, Mauritius and South Africa.

Our University’s heritage dates back to 1875 through its founding institutions and our coat of arms incorporates the motto For the Common Weal. Established as a University in 1993, our commitment to the common good underpins everything we do.

Our Chancellor is Nobel Peace Prize winner Professor Muhammad Yunus, one of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs. Founder of the Grameen Bank, he has pioneered the use of microfinance and social business to combat poverty worldwide. More than 100 countries have honoured Professor Yunus for his contribution towards the creation of a fairer and better world.

As the University for the Common Good, we are committed to providing high-quality learning and teaching to our students. Following the recent Quality Assurance Agency’s Enhancement-Led Institutional Review (ELIR), GCU achieved the highest judgement. We are proud to be the top performing modern university in Scotland for UK full-time students completing their first degree, with employment/further study levels of 96% six months after graduation.

Established over ten years ago, Constructionarium Scotland provides a “hands-on” construction experience for students and professionals; where participants construct scaled down versions of bridges, buildings, dams and civil engineering projects from all around the world. The principle is to link academic institutes with industry and to ensure that the students are able to apply the knowledge they have gained in a practical, safe and relevant environment.

As part of the PEETS project students will work with Constructionarium Scotland and will spend three days on site constructing a wind farm.
