Why did you choose to study at Glasgow Caledonian?
I originally chose this programme at Glasgow Caledonian (GCU) as it offered me the best suited courses and flexibility for my chosen career path. GCU has allowed me to further my education in a way that suits my needs in order for me to get the most out of my experience at the university.
What are/did you enjoy most about life at the university?
The university itself is great for having all resources and facilities so close to one another. Each class may be in a different building but there is never an issue with walking between buildings as they are all joined through the Saltire centre. It is great to have the choice of staying within the university community or walking the short walk down to the city centre.
What are/did you enjoying most about your programme?
The programme that I am on is fairly intense but I find that exciting as it offers daily challenges. I would say the programme has forced me to mature my organisational skills in order to ensure that all of my classes and coursework are being met on time and that nothing has been left to the last minute.
What is your best experience so far?
My best experience at GCU would have to be the vast amount of people I have met and the quality of education I am receiving is second to none. I am also gaining experience in managing myself and my priorities.
What advice do you have for people considering applying to GCU?
My best advice for future students would probably be to never leave anything to the last minute. Its quite important that all course works and exam preps are done as soon as possible as time can escape you quickly when studying at university.
What do you think about Glasgow?
Glasgow itself is a vibrant city and it is an excellent time to be studying within the city. Having hosted the commonwealth games along with being used to host MTV EMAs, there are loads of new experiences and possible volunteering opportunities available to those within the city. There are always great opportunities just around the corner and the there is always something that with grasp your attention and make you look at things in a new light.
What single word sums up your GCU experience so far?
What do you plan to do after you complete your degree, what are your career aspirations?
To take my education as far as I can and to continue on a path that is as successful as the one I have started. I hope to further my career as a mechanical engineer and perhaps specialise in areas which will become more clear after I have graduated.
