Professor Claudia Estcourt
Professor of Sexual Health & HIV; SHBBV Research Group Lead
Department of Psychology
Claudia’s research addresses two major NHS and public health priorities: 1) self-managed, digital healthcare, from testing and diagnosis through to online clinical management for STIs (esti2.org.uk); 2) preventing transmission of STIs and reducing undiagnosed HIV through interventions to rapidly identify and treat sex partners of those with STIs and HIV (https://www.lustrum.org.uk/). As part of i-Sense (https://www.i-sense.org.uk/), her team is looking at online care pathways to link people using HIV home testing into NHS clinical care and prevention interventions, and application of near patient infectious disease diagnostics and online clinical care delivery in African community settings via the MRC Global Challenges funded m-Africa project.
