Dr Stas Burek is a Senior Lecturer with over 25 years’ experience of research, consultancy and teaching in a wide range of energy technologies. He joined Glasgow Caledonian University in 1989 and has an MSc in energy technology and a PhD in solar energy. He has been involved in a wide range of research and consultancy projects, including feasibility studies for renewable energy, CHP, renewable resource assessment and practical monitoring, data collection and analysis. Most recently Stas has been a technical advisor to the Steering Group for the Castlemilk and Carmunnock Community Wind farm, a community based project to develop a 7.5MW wind farm in the area. In another project he developed a feasibility study for the solar-powered boat, now operating on Loch Lomond. Stas is currently working on an EC-funded project to reduce cooling loads in hotels in southern Europe. He has also contributed to discussion forums on the UK Energy White Paper, the Scottish Renewable Energy Policy and other such issues.
