Dr Anita Meldrum is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Management. Before becoming an academic, she had over 20 years’ experience in the water industry, and design and project management of international water and wastewater treatment projects. She also has board level EHS management experience in the water and electronics industries. More recently, EHS consultancy experience included providing regulatory impact assessment, waste market research, sustainability and environmental management studies for both private and public sector organisations. Anita has also worked on a voluntary basis as a non-executive director and chairman in a local economic development company. Academic consultancy work includes work on a biofuels KTP for Fyne Homes, Human powered water treatment for the developing world for Red Button Design and Wastewater characterisation for a meat processing company, AK Stoddart. Her research interests cover: water resource management, water and wastewater treatment and water access and public health in developing countries.
