Agnieszka J Klemm is Professor in Construction Materials at the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Management in Glasgow Caledonian University. Her research interests cover different aspects of high performance cementitious materials with improved resistance to alternating environmental conditions, microstructural characterisation of cement based materials, durability and prediction of degradation during the service life, environmental impact of durable materials including contribution of re-used materials to more sustainable constructions. She established numerous international links in Poland, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Canada and USA. She is an active member of the RILEM Technical Committees. Her collaborative work has led to a numerous conference presentations and publications in high impact academic journals.

Since 2007 she has been acting as an independent expert and reviewer for the European Commission (FP7 and Horizon 2020). She is a reviewer for the Swedish Research Council (FORMAS), The National Research Foundation in South Africa, The Leverhulme Trust and BBSRC. She is a member of the International Advisory Committees for 10 international conferences on concrete and materials characterisation. She acts as referee for the international journals: Building and Environment Applied Surface Science, Progress in Organic Coatings, Construction and Building Materials, Surface and Interface Analysis, Materials and Structures, Materials in Civil Engineering, Computational Methods and Experimental Measurements, Archives of Civil Engineering, Open Construction and Building Technology Journal, International Journal of Computational Methods and Experimental Measurements.
