Application of a multi-criteria decision analytical tool, in the assessment of the decisions taken by operators within the UKCS based on defined factors; in their choice of decommissioning options

Offshore oil and gas asset decommissioning refers to the holistic process of the deconstruction, removal and disposal of obsolete petroleum production installations.
Operators apply comparative assessment techniques in their choice of decommissioning options and base the analysis as determined by regulation, on five key criteria; at the heart of which are the financial and environmental criteria.
Research aims to rigorously assess these choices with the application of multi-criteria decision-making tools, in order to ascertain offshore operators’ leanings based on them. "
