CAMAS
Caledonian Advanced Microscopy & Analytical Services (CAMAS)
CAMAS is as a consultancy/research service to external companies and organisations (and internal clients) providing toxicology, microscopy and other chemical analysis services, mainly to industry and public bodies, particularly in the Pharmaceutical Environmental and Forensic sectors.
CAMAS can offer clients a few hours’ testing analysis to longer term research or analytical collaborations.
Instruments and expertise include:-
- Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS)
- Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MSn)
- Raman Spectroscopy
- Fluorescence Spectrometers
- Flame Ionization Detector (GLC-FID)
- High Performance Liquid Chromatography with Diode-Array Detection (HPLC-DAD)
- Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope
- Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) with STM capability
- Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with EDX
Clients/collaborations have included SEPA, Scottish Water, oil sector companies, pharmaceutical, environmental and forensic/expert witness projects. For Example:-
