The School of Computing, Engineering & Built Environment hosted their Annual Student Prize Giving last Wednesday, welcoming over 200 guests to celebrate over 50 student prizes sponsored by professional bodies and industrial partners.
The prizes acknowledged the capability, hard work and commitment GCU students have shown over the last year. The event was a joyous occasion for the students and their guests as well as platform for students and academics to meet with the School’s sponsors. For more information on our prize winners and sponsors download the prize giving information brochure here.
The after dinner speaker was entrepreneur Matt Stewart, founder and managing director of entrepreneur me, a company he started in Glasgow 12 years ago. The mission of his company is “Encouraging Entrepreneurship for Social Change”; Matt has expanded the business into Northern Ireland and England with this year over 30,000 people participating in his entrepreneur workshops. He spoke about what being entrepreneurial means: accepting self-responsibility, setting your sights high, having great self-belief and being able to spot an opportunity.
Congratulations to all prize winners and a warm thank you to our sponsors.
