Louise O'Neill

Louise O’Neill is a Lecturer in Quantity Surveying within the Department of Construction & Surveying which forms part of the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment. Louise is a GCU Alumna, having graduated in 2012 with a First-Class BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying. In August 2021, Louise joined Glasgow Caledonian University full-time having spent 9 years working within various Quantity Surveying roles in Private Consultancy, Main Contracting, Sub-Contracting and Utilities where she acquired a wealth of invaluable Industry experience. This ranged from Commercially Managing £100million new build office developments to fitting-out specialist clinical suites for the NHS. Louise has a keen interest in the development of new technologies to streamline construction processes and improve the quality of output from project teams. In addition to this, she enjoys studying topics relating to construction law and contracts. Louise also has a personal focus on sustainability and the restoration/preservation of historical buildings which led to her involvement in the refurbishment of Gourock Outdoor pool, retention of a stone façade on a high-profile project in Glasgow City Centre and, most recently, was commercially responsible for the construction of the first WELL standard building in Scotland.
