The Work Experience Hub is based in the Careers Centre giving you easy access to the full range of resources, expertise and advice available from the Careers team, who can assist and support you to make the most of your career development and employability. To see all current on-campus opportunities simply click on CareerHub@GCU and login using your GCU student login. Once in the system you will find all on-campus jobs under the ‘On Campus Recruitment’ category. We will also advertise current vacancies at the Work Experience Hub located in the Careers Centre, Level 1, George Moore Building.
At Glasgow Caledonian, we aim to ensure that all of our students have the opportunity to develop a range of skills, attributes, knowledge and experience to enhance your employability and employment prospects. As The University For The Common Good, we have developed our Common Good Opportunities pages which provide many examples of the types of work experience opportunities that you can get involved with at Glasgow Caledonian. Students who are involved in Common Good work are eligible to apply for the Common Good Award which will recognise and reward your Common Good activty and provide valuable evidence for employers!
Working with stakeholders across the University, the Hub will contribute proactively to the identification of new and innovative on campus, part-time employment and other co- curricular or extra curricular opportunities for students.
We will be working to develop, implement and communicate a consistent and transparent framework for on campus student employment, ensuring protocols and guidance are in place regarding the advertising, recruitment, remuneration, induction and training for work experience opportunities.
We will work closely with colleagues in the academic schools, professional support departments and the Students’ Association to develop a network of contacts and work experience champions, and to align on campus employment with GCU’s strategic goals.
We also aim to provide support and advice to schools and departments on all aspects of on-campus student employment, to ensure consistency and good practice across the institution.
