Business leaders join retail education series at GCU New York

GCU New York

GCU New York and Dress for Success® Worldwide will host the latest in a series of retail education events on Thursday, November 19.

Business leaders Mariama Eghan from LinkedIn; Klay S. Williams from Plan A Enterprises; Anthony Parker from LVMH; and Barbara Catalano from Columbia University will discuss how to maximise career opportunities at the campus in Manhattan’s SoHo district.

The conversation event, Workforce Development: Activating Your Community to Build Mutual Success, is the second in a seven-part series of events developed by Dress for Success’s Going Places Network Retail Education Advancing Leadership Program (GPN: REAL).

The series launched in September with a discussion by Angelina Garneva, Policy and Program Manager at New York City Employment and Training Coalition, and Candice J. Ward, District Director My Stylist at Macy's, which focused on creating pathways to successful careers.

Dress for Success® promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing career development tools to help women thrive. It is part of a recent grant from the Walmart Foundation to bring a series of events in partnership with Dress for Success® and GCU New York which focus on best practices within the apparel and accessories industry.

The series of events cover a range of topics from retail roadmaps, training and skills advancement, workforce development and community partnerships.
