UHatch start-up named as one of 2019's top 50 companies to watch

30 August 2019

A business supported by GCU's entrepreneurial hub has been named as one of the top 50 companies to watch by a prestigious US magazine.

Alegrant, launched by Catherine Truel, features in a list compiled by The Silicon Review Magazine, one of America's most trusted sources of business news.

The online platform allows importers and exporters to connect with trade and customs compliance experts worldwide. It makes it easier and safer for businesses to access advice and information.

Catherine credits UHatch, GCU's incubator service for start-up companies, with helping her turn her initial idea into a business.

She said: “We are honoured to be recognised among the 50 Best Companies to Watch for 2019.

“This recognition is a testament to our continued commitment to helping businesses reduce business risk by complying with increasingly complex import and export regulations.”

Professor John Lennon, Dean of Glasgow School for Business and Society and Director of UHatch, said: "Alegrant is a true UHatch success story, navigating a difficult import and export environment for clients at a time of great macroeconomic uncertainty for the UK."
