Craig holds an undergraduate Geography degree, where he developed an interest in urban development and regeneration. Following this he spent 5 years with the Construction Management Research Unit (CMRU) at the University of Dundee where he completed both an MRes and a PhD, in addition to being involved in a variety of other research projects with academic and industrial partners. During this period he developed expertise in the areas of project management, construction innovation, knowledge management, the influence of design and management within social housing on tenant behaviour, maintenance management. Prior to joining the school he worked in local government, joining the school in 2006 as a Research Fellow and becoming a Lecturer in 2011 in the area of Sustainability and the Built environment. Craig has strong research interests in the areas of sustainability assessment; sustainability as a driver for innovation; and in the promotion of learning amongst practitioners about sustainability. He has been involved in two large EPSRC sponsored research consortia: SUEMoT project (Sustainable Urban Environment-Metrics, Models and Toolkits -www.sue-mot.org.uk) and SURegen (Integrated Decision Support System for Sustainable Urban Regeneration -www.suregen.co.uk) working with CMRU at University of Dundee. He recently he has been involved with EU Northern Periphery Programme (NPP) project (Natural Energy Efficient and Sustainable) (www.NEESonline.org), and ERASMUS Life-Long Learning Curriculum Development project RESCUE (www.rescueproject.wordpress.com). He acts as a scientific reviewer for a number of academic journals, and from 2014 will serve as a Committee Member for ARCOM (Association of Researchers in Construction Management).
