Why did you choose your programme at Glasgow Caledonian?

I was seeking a post-graduate programme in Human Rights, which could be studied part-time.  I was resident outside the UK and wasn’t in a position to take off a full-year or more from my career.  There were not many universities that offered such a programme, but luckily GCU introduced a course in the very year I enrolled, so I was part of the first batch of students.

What did you enjoy most about life at the university?

I really enjoyed the support offered by the faculty: the sense of involvement into the students’ journeys that they portrayed. The mixed backgrounds of other students in my course was also a distinct advantage.

What did you enjoy most about your programme?

I think that the Graduation Ceremony was the greatest highlight! It was very well organised and having some of my family there from overseas was a moment of great pride for me.

What advice do you have for people considering applying to university?

I’d be a strong advocate for people wanting to study at GCU and I would advise them to speak to other students, most of whom I know have very positive feedback.  Also, learning from the experiences of others is a great short-cut to picking up the many things that a university course offers.

What do you think about Glasgow?

I am extremely fond of the city and its people!

What do you plan to do now you have graduated/what are your career aspirations?
