Jade Konkel

DipHE in Social Work 2017
Head of Service at London Borough of Hillingdon

Jade Konkel is an international rugby player and professional athlete. She made her Scotland Women rugby debut against England in the opening Six Nations match in 2013.

In 2016, she made history by becoming Scottish Rugby’s first full-time female player in the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy where she is now a Stage 3 player. Jade scored tries against both England and Wales in the 2018 Women’s Six Nations.

She played rugby while growing up on the Black Isle. The sport runs in the family. Her mum, dad, younger and older brothers have all played with Inverness Craig Dunain rugby club as well.

As if being one of Scottish rugby’s biggest stars wasn’t enough, Jade also played two seasons in the basketball national league with the Highland Bears. She has represented Scotland in athletics for the army cadets and won two gold medals for shot putt and discus. Plus, she is a black belt in the martial art Goshin-Ryu Kempo.
