2020 BSc(Hons) Applied Psychology

Kayleigh Coyle

Why did you choose GCU?

GCU had been recommended to me by previous students.

How would you describe your experience at GCU?

I started at GCU as a direct entry student into Level 3; the transition from college to University was a fantastic experience.

What are your fondest memories of GCU?

My fondest memories included becoming involved with the different societies. I joined the Psychology Society committee and also became involved with programmes such as GAL through the careers service. These programmes helped not only boost my confidence but also allowed me to make some cherished friends and networking contacts.

How would you describe the quality of the teaching and support you received from GCU?

The Psychology department staff were fantastic: the staff were all very approachable and helpful and were always willing to spend the extra time with students who needed extra support.

Can you tell us how you coped with the transition to online learning during the pandemic?

The level of communication from staff was a massive relief. Stress levels were high for me as it was approaching our final Level 4 exams and dissertation deadlines, but the staff and support available made the stress reduced and was also a massive comfort.
