Dr Murray Rowden



As Regional Managing Director (Americas) Murray Rowden leads Turner and Townsend’s business in eight countries across North and South America and supports its teams in growing the business in its other regions as its Global Head of Infrastructure.

Murray joined the multinational professional services company, which specialises in programme management, project management, cost management and consulting across the property, infrastructure and natural resources sectors, after graduating from GCU, where he studied Quantity Surveying.

He joined Turner and Townsend’s graduate programme in 1990, and he has worked in its bases in Glasgow, Leeds, Amsterdam, London and New York in a range of leadership roles including leading the UK infrastructure sector business unit, which now employs 1000 people. He was appointed to its Executive Board in 2015.

Committed to contributing to the development of the industry, Murray has been International Chairman of industry improvement body Constructing Excellence, and has worked with government and industry organisations in Asia, Australia, Canada and the UK on developing industrial strategies and improvement initiatives. A dedicated advocate for the University, Murray joined honorary graduates Sir Alex Ferguson CBE and Harry Benson at a leadership event at GCNYC to mark its inaugural academic year.
