Dr Mike Foley



Mike is the Chief Financial Officer of Unity Technologies, a global gaming technology company.

After graduating from Cambridge University in 1994, Mike joined Price Waterhouse as an auditor with whom he remained until 1997. From 1997 until 2003 Mike was Assistant Director with Ernst and Young, and following a spell with Sovereign Capital, he went on to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School.

Following completion of his MBA in 2005, Mike took up a position at Microsoft for three years as Director of Corporate Development where he executed acquisitions and strategic investments worth several billion dollars.

In 2008, Mike was appointed Senior Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development for Electronic Arts, the leading global video game company. In his role between 2008 and 2015, Mike led strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions, ensuring the company maintained and strengthened its global leadership position in computer gaming.

Mike left Electronic Arts in 2015 to take up his current role at Unity Technologies. Unity is a multi-billion dollar technology company that provides a platform for creating and monetizing games and virtual reality content.

Born in Glasgow, Mike Foley has strong connections to widening access to digital education in Glasgow communities, evidenced by his current charitable work including the Digital Education Programme with the Celtic FC Foundation. Mike also collaborates with GCU to widen access to local schools through engaging and inspiring school pupils in digital futures by providing master classes, video conferences and advice.
