After playing Taggart’s much loved character, DI Jackie Reid, for 21 years, Blythe Duff will soon star on the stage in an adaption of Romeo and Juliet at the famous Round Theatre in London. She is known, at home and internationally, as an award winning actress with a special passion for theatre since a young age. Blythe has performed with the Scottish Opera Orchestra to bring the story of Hansel and Gretel alive and she loves to work with the Scottish Youth Theatre, the latter of which she is now patron. In 2011 she debuted in New York, as Carlotta Burns in Beautiful Burnout then took the role around the world for festivals in Sydney, Perth and Wellington. Blythe is also eager to get involved with students on the MA TV course:

"I love working with writers, i really enjoy that process. I’m keen to work with the scripts that are handed over. I’m looking forward to seeing how the students on the course develop."

She has also performed MA TV lecturer Anne Marie Di Mambro’s play Tallys Blood.
