Alan James Duffy

Director of Strategic Account Management at Aon
BA (Hons) Risk Management

What did you enjoy most about life at the university?

Really the most enjoyable 4 years of my life studying Risk Management at GCU. I met some great life long friends and a work hard play hard time. It was a great time to be at GCU in the mid to late 90s. It was really just finding its own identity. I am forever grateful that I chose to study here over the other choices and has given me amazing opportunities in my life and career.

How has your degree helped you?

I have now found myself back to broking and client service with Aon in Singapore after starting my career on the graduate programme with Marsh UK which eventually took me to the middle east, first to Dubai then I moved to work as a risk manager for Mubadala, a large sovereign wealth fund in Abu Dhabi then New York, and did 3 years in Doha, with Qatar Railways before joining Aon.
