The first major retrospective of the work of celebrated textile artist Malcolm Lochhead, Works Sacred, Works Profane 1970-Present features more than 50 works including banners created for Bothwell Collegiate Church and six chairs from a set created for the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. Supported by GCU, the exhibition also contains a number of works commissioned for the cathedral, including the Cloth for the Tomb of St Mungo.

Works Sacred, Works Profane runs from 10am until 4pm from Monday, October 9, to Saturday, October 21 (except October 15). Entry is free.

Cultural Fellow Liz Lochhead, Scotland’s former national poet and a recipient of the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry, mixes poems and monologues accompanied by saxophonist Steve Kettley in Somethings Old, Somethings New.

The event – at 8pm on October 10 – is at Drygate Brewery.
