Gamu hopes charity single has X Factor

Gamu Nhengu performs live

GCU graduate James Lang has helped X Factor audience favourite Gamu Nhengu record her first single.

James, who studied Audio Technology with Multimedia, produced the single Where Will You Sleep This Christmas? by Aberlour Choir, featuring Gamu, and is hoping it hits the top spot this Christmas.

All proceeds from the single will go to Aberlour Child Care Trust, the largest solely Scottish children’s charity, which works with and for 6000 children, young people and families throughout Scotland who need additional support to lead safe, fulfilling lives.

James said: “When I sent the final mastered track away, I checked and the odds of it being Christmas number one were 25/1. It is now 14/1 and ahead of The Beatles, so it isn't completely impossible for it to go to number one."

The single can be purchased for 99p now at iTunes and will also be available from Play.com, Tesco Digital, eMusic, Napster UK, Ovi Music, Tunetribe, We7 and Zune.
