Construction alumni to be celebrated

Professor Iain Cameron, Dean of the School of Engineering and Built Environment

GCU’s School of Engineering and Built Environment will host a dinner to celebrate the success of a number of its alumni and to look at areas of further collaboration.

The School has trained a significant number of staff at McLaughlin & Harvey Construction (formerly Barr Construction) including two directors and five managers.

To celebrate the fact, Professor Iain Cameron, Dean of the School of Engineering and Built Environment, has invited the company to a dinner to be held at the Corinthian on Tuesday, July 14.

He said: “M&H has been an amazing supporter of our built environment programmes for over two decades.  Our School has always been proud of its association with Barr (M&H) and of the fact that so many of the company’s top talent have graduated from our degrees.

“It therefore seems long overdue that we recognise our joint success and possibly scope out how we can deepen our relationship going forward.”
