Honour for Cultural Fellow Juliet Cadzow

Juliet Cadzow.

Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) Cultural Fellow and BAFTA-nominated actress Juliet Cadzow has been presented with an award by Glasgow’s Lord Provost Sadie Docherty.

The Lord Provost Awards - an annual civic dinner held by Glasgow City Council - paid tribute to the men and women who make Glasgow a better place, from football legends and a Paralympian to a street sweeper beloved of his local community.

Juliet has appeared in film and TV classics including The Wicker Man and children’s TV hit, Balamory. She is currently starring in River City as mum, Suzie Fraser, but despite her hectic work schedule, Juliet still finds time to volunteer at GCU where she is a Cultural Fellow.

The accomplished actress is credited with mentoring, motivating and inspiring performing and visual arts students and was nominated for an award by Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Pamela Gilles CBE FRSE.

Juliet said: “It was a truly wonderful ceremony. Being made a Cultural Fellow at GCU is one of the best parts I have ever been offered. I couldn't be more overjoyed with my Award if I'd won an Oscar, but the Lord Provost's Award is very much more meaningful. I am overjoyed that Professor Pamela Gillies thought me a worthy enough candidate to nominate me for this prestigious Award.”
