GCU shortlisted for Leading Professional Body award

Institute of Risk Management

A partnership between Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) and Zurich Risk Engineering has been shortlisted for an award by the Institute of Risk Management.

GCU and Zurich Risk Engineering are in the final stages of thePartnership of the Year award at IRM’s Global Risk Awards 2015, which is run by the world’s leading professional body for risk management.

The awards celebrate excellence in risk management and are judged by a panel of more than 30 leading management practitioners and academics, with nominations from Africa, Asia, Australasia, Americas, Europe and the Middle East.

Director of Financial Planning Paul Queen said: “To be shortlisted for the award is recognition of the significant steps that the University has taken to embed risk management as a positive process which supports and enhances how the University is managed. GCU is the only university nominated in any category and supports, in our view, that we are striving to lead the way in risk management in the sector.”

The partnership between the University and Zurich Risk Engineering was established in 2011 and has resulted in the delivery of significant positive impacts to GCU in 2014. Initiatives to transform GCU’s approach and capacities in risk management include: the creation of a University-wide Risk Management Forum; delivery of GCU’s Risk Management Strategy and a significant programme of staff development workshops and one-to-one training.

The winners will be announced at an event in Park Lane Hilton Hotel, London, on Thursday, February 19 hosted by Joanna Lumley.
