Our Captains of Industry Talks are a series of online talks specifically for the Class of 2020 and students entering their final year.  You will hear first-hand from industry experts as they share their experience, talk about the impact of COVID-19 now and in the future as well as sharing hints and tips on taking your first steps into your careers.

Overview:
Our next Captains of Industry Talk will take place on Thursday 24th September at 4pm and will be delivered by GCU honorary graduate Dr Brian Duffy, Chief Executive at Watches of Switzerland. Brian is the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Polo Ralph Lauren Europe and was a non-executive director of Celtic FC until 2014. Brian will discuss the impact of COVID-19 within the retail sector and what challenges and opportunities this poses for the future. Brian will also share his words of advice for new graduates entering the job market.

Next in our series of Captains of Industry Talks is GCU graduate Katie Murray, Group Chief Financial Officer at RBS, on Thursday 8th October at 4pm. Katie was promoted to her current position in January 2019 and is one of the first females to achieve such a position within the banking industry. Katie will discuss the impact of COVID-19 within the banking sector and what challenges or opportunities she sees happening in the short and long term future. Katie will also share her words of advice for new graduates entering the job market.

Christopher has established his eponymous brand with responsible and intelligent fashion design for a global audience. The RÆMADE ethos in particular has pioneered the reworking of surplus fabrics and garments to create distinctive and functional pieces. Christopher will discuss the impact of COVID-19 within the fashion sector and what challenges and opportunities this poses for the future. Christopher will also share his words of advice for new graduates entering the job market.
