Laura Keane

Laura Keane, BA (Hons) in Business Studies, is our final #ClassOf2008 graduate to share her experience of graduating into a financial recession and her words of wisdom to inspire our #ClassOf2020.

How did you feel in 2008 just as you were about to graduate?
“Bittersweet, proud to have completed university and also sad that “the next step in life” was beginning. I made lifelong friends from university and they have played a major part in my life since graduation. We have been bridesmaids for one another and two of us now have little babies who are close in age. I loved my time at Glasgow Caledonian and especially as my course had a placement in 3rd year to gain more experience and skills.”

Your words of support and advice for our #ClassOf2020:
“Be prepared and think what you want to do as a career and what you enjoy. Set up meetings with recruiters, attend open days and generally think where you would be best suited to work and what sector. The Business Studies degree had a whole host of subjects and this allows you to pick your sector. I specialise in Procurement, whilst my friends on the same course have chosen HR, Accountancy and Learning & Development.”

Thank you Laura, and to all of our #ClassOf2008 who shared their experience and words of wisdom with us. We are proud of each and every one of our graduates and we wish you all the very best for the future. #ClassOf2020 you’ve got this!
