Since moving to Scotland in 2011 Pedro has been working in the third sector and developed a special interest in social business.

In 2015, after receiving the Muhammad Yunus Scholarship, Pedro completed a Masters in Social Business and Microfinance with Glasgow Caledonian University, to further develop his knowledge of the sector.

In 2016 Pedro was a Finalist in the Social Enterprise category of the Converge Challenge and in the Social Enterprise Champion category of the Social Enterprise Awards for Scotland.

In 2017, along with his wife Cristina and supported by UHatch, GCU’s entrepreneurial hub, Pedro opened a social business in Glasgow called Remake Up, set up with the purpose of helping those who suffer psychologically as a result of the physical effects of medical conditions such as cancer, alopecia, or the treatments associated with them.

ReMake Up provides permanent makeup services as an allied health solution, supporting people regaining their confidence and building their self-esteem, when recovering from the loss of hair due to alopecia or cancer, reconstructing nipple & areola after breast surgery due to cancer, etc. These unfortunate events quite often lead to a spiral of poor overall wellbeing, social isolation, and depression.

Remake Up provides paramedical tattooing free of charge once a week through their Giving Fridays. Since opening, Remake Up has delivered over 250 hours of free Paramedical Tattooing.

Pedro is now a fully trained Scalp Micropigmentation artist and hopes to help the thousands of men suffering from baldness, in particular, those affected by Alopecia or who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
