Richard Longmuir

We are putting the spotlight on some of our amazing 2020 Alumni of the Year recipients and the critical role they have played during the pandemic.  Next up is 2010 graphic design and digital media graduate, Richard Longmuir, who is the Creative Director at Launch Digital Ltd.  Below Richard tells us a bit more about his role:

“In my role as Creative Director at Launch I head up the design team, managing all aspects of the creative process from concept to final product. I am lucky enough to meet a wide range of clients in many different sectors from start-ups to large corporations. I work on developing the client briefs into finished products that deliver results. I work with clients to create new brands, develop existing brands, reach wider audiences and build engaging experiences that not only look good but deliver more sales and a higher return on investment.

“Through my role at Launch I have been lucky to meet some incredible people. I make it a priority to help these people as much as I can, giving my time to help them market their charities and community projects. Throughout 2020 I have been fundraising for Launch Foods, a Glasgow based charity feeding children, and Unity Grill, an Ayrshire based social enterprise who challenge food poverty. We began a campaign called “Kilts Feed Kids” where I designed a tartan produced by Slanj Kilts with all profits going to these causes. When COVID hit we developed a tartan facemask to help keep people safe and also raise funds for the causes. The campaign was a huge success with over 1300 masks sold and the First Minister proudly showing off her mask in Parliament. I have also helped other charities including Whiteleys Retreat, Sikhs in Scotland, Town Action Group and Tamfest.  I have also been lucky enough to mentor 3 GCU students (Lauren, Brodie, and Megan) throughout 2020 helping them with coursework and finding a job during the pandemic.”

Thank you Richard for the phenomenal work you are doing.  You are a very worthy addition to our esteemed Alumni of the Year recipients.
