Sam Ellis is a Senior Lecturer in Academic Development, designing and delivering programmes for academic staff development with a specific focus on supporting those who are new to teaching. He has been a teacher and educational developer since 2005, moving gradually from a specialism in modern history into educational development. He taught at Bangor University for eight years, and has been at Glasgow Caledonian University since 2013. His current research focuses on the development and retention of talented teachers. Sam is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
