Programme Design Support for Programme Teams
The Academic Development team provide support for programme and module teams as they design new programmes or refresh existing ones in blended and online mode. We support staff to develop online and blended learning experiences that emulate our successful traditional student experience. This is driven by characteristics that reflect the GCU mission for the Common Good.
The University's aspirations for digital learning are clearly outlined in Strategy 2020 and the Digital Strategy. In order to achieve these, we provide support for programme and module teams as they design new programmes or refresh existing ones in blended and online mode. The support comprises an appropriate combination of face-to-face design sessions and online resources, which can be tailored to meet the needs of the team.
Teaching staff designing for a constructively aligned module, writing learning outcomes and designing learning activities and assessments may find the following 'how to' guide useful: Module Design@GCU
You can also access a range of collated online resources via the link below. These resources and more are also available in the "staff help" tab in GCULearn.
Teaching staff and staff supporting student learning seeking to support students as global citizens can gain receive some useful guidance through the 'Internationalising the Curriculum: a guide for staff'
This is aimed at programme teams developing or enhancing digital assessment strategy, approaches and tools.
