Professor Douglas Greenhalgh
Professor Douglas Greenhalgh, BSc, PhD, CEng, CPhys, FInstP, FHEA, is the Executive Dean and Pro-vice Chancellor of the School of Engineering and Built Environment.
A Chartered Physicist and Fellow of the Institute of Physics, Professor Greenhalgh is former Head of the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Heriot-Watt University, which he led to an outstanding RAE result in 2008.
He was previously a departmental Head in the School of Engineering at Cranfield University.
Professor Greenhalgh is an independent council member of the DSAC, the MoD committee which oversees science and technology and he is a past Chair and current UK representative to the IEA’s international collaborative programme on Energy Conservation and Emissions reduction in combustion. He has a BSc and PhD in Chemistry from Newcastle University.
