GCU designated a Changemaker Campus by Ashoka U

Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) has been designated a Changemaker Campus by Ashoka U, a global network of universities and colleges, and is one of only 30 in the world and the first in Scotland. Find out more.

National awards for our Caledonian Club 

The Caledonian Club has won the Education Award at Business in the Community’s 2016 Annual Responsible Business awards. They have won a number of other awards, including the Times Higher Education Award 2009 for Widening Participation Initiative of the Year as well as the Herald Society Award for Education Initiative of the Year.

Leaders in environmental practices

Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) is the first university in Scotland to achieve EcoCampus Platinum certification for its environmental practices. 

Leaders in preparing students for employment

Glasgow Caledonian University’s outstanding work in preparing our students for employment has been highlighted as best practice in a new report from the Confederation of British Industry, Future Fit.

GCU achieves HR Excellence in Research Award

The University has been formally recognised for its commitment to promoting gender equality by attaining the Equality Challenge Unit (ECU)’s prestigious Athena SWAN Institutional Bronze Award.

GCU has gained the HR Excellence in Research Award from the European Commission in recognition of the University’s commitment to the career management and skills development of its researchers.

Double Success at the the 2011 NUS Scotland Awards

The Students’ Association was named University Students’ Union of the Year at the NUS Scotland Awards 2011, with Andrew Craib also winning Course Representative of the Year.
