Services for Students

The Saltire Centre is a learning centre.  It links the teaching blocks on campus, providing easy access to 1800 places to study; including a 600 seat learning café, 400 computers and 250 laptops to borrow and use anywhere. 

You can choose from a range of places to work.  Some areas are more suitable for working with others on projects or just helping each other study.  Other areas offer you peace and quiet to do your own thing.  On each floor with an exit you will find a "self-issue and return" point to enable you to take books out on loan. 

The Saltire Centre also offers you the opportunity to use a variety of support services.  Information on all of the support services is available on the student homepage but please also speak to staff working at the Base which is located on level 0 of the Saltire Centre or by phoning 0141 273 1000.  The Saltire Centre staff can also be found throughout the building. Please ask any member of staff for help as they can help or refer you to the person who can. 

Other facilities

Within the Saltire Centre and throughout the computing facilities at the university you will also find help is at hand via the ‘red phone’ system.  Each lab has a red phone which you can use for IT support, with a full listing of all computing facilities and software available.
