Programme Description
Our programme is built around a common core of business modules, combined with your choice of options in a wide range of areas such as marketing, human resource management, finance and tourism.
Every year you will be involved in selecting the modules you will study. You can choose from several business options available in the Glasgow School for Business and Society, one of the largest Business Schools in Scotland and the UK. In addition to business specialisms, you have the option to study a modern language at each level of the programme and an opportunity to study abroad in year 3.
The final two years of study allow you to focus on the main career areas you are interested in, through to an Honours degree. If you choose to follow a named pathway, you can graduate with a named degree such as BA(Hons) Business with Marketing; with HRM; with Finance; with Events Management, with Language, etc.
This programme is also available up to degree level on a part-time basis.

Teaching Methods
Our supporting material includes the use of podcast, webinars, which are internet based seminars, discussion boards and learning group fora. We regularly invite guest speakers to give our students an up-to-date employer and industry perspective.
Our students have the opportunity to study abroad as an exchange student during their time with us; either through our extensive network of Erasmus partners across Europe or to our other partner institutions in Canada, USA, Australia and Latin-America. Students who don’t take up this option can study a work based internship module as an academic subject.
Employment Details
As befits the nature of the programme, our graduates enter a wide variety of sectors and industries. Recent graduates have gone on to work for both the Scottish and UK Governments, the European Civil Service, financial services and banks, the retail sector and the hospitality and tourism sectors.
We have recently instigated an employers’ forum where our students are invited to join visiting employers and cover such topics as career choice and maximising employability through skills development. Future sessions will focus on the role of languages as an attribute for successful graduate job search.
