Loyalty Scholarships for International Students

International students who progress to further study with Glasgow Caledonian University are eligible for up to £5,000 off their course tuition fees.

What you get

  • Undergraduate students receive £2,000 towards their first annual fees and £1,000 for each subsequent year of their degree. Up to £5,000 over 4 years.
  • Postgraduate students receive £2,000 towards the first year of their annual tuition fees and £1,000 for any subsequent year.

Who can apply

The fee discounts are applicable to self-funded international students only.

Undergraduate self-funded international students must have successfully completed;

  • a Foundation, Premasters or Pre-sessional course with INTO GCU
  • or a GCU Summer School
  • or an exchange programme at GCU

Postgraduate self-funded international students must have successfully completed;

  • an undergraduate degree from GCU (must have graduated)
  • or a Foundation, Pre-masters or Pre-sessional course with INTO GCU
  • or a GCU Summer School
  • or an exchange programme at GCU

How to apply

You will automatically receive the fee discount when you are offered a place on your chosen course, and at the time of invoicing for each subsequent year of your degree if you meet the criteria above.

GCU New Postgraduate Student Scholarship

New to GCU Scholarship (Postgraduate)

International students who study a full-time course with Glasgow Caledonian University are eligible for up to £2,600 off their course tuition fees.

What you get

  • Postgraduate students receive £1,600 towards their first annual fees and £1,000 for each subsequent year of their degree. Up to £2,600 over 2 years.

Who can apply

The fee discounts are applicable to self-funded postgraduate international students only.

How to apply

You will automatically receive the fee discount when you are offered a place on your chosen course, and at the time of invoicing for each subsequent year of your degree if you meet the criteria above.

Early Payment Discount

A 5% early payment discount if your tuition fees are over £5,000 will be applied on the condition that full fees are paid in full prior to first teaching date of the programme and all other Key Points below are taken into consideration.

Key points;

  • On the first year of entry for International fee paying students, a minimum deposit must be received by 1 August (for September intake) 1 December (for January intake) or 1 March (for May intake)Deposits are accepted from applicants holding both conditional and unconditional offers. 
  • Deposits cannot be refunded to students who did not meet the entry criteria or were unsuccessful in obtaining a visa. Please see fees and refund policy
  • Remaining tuition fees are paid in full before the first day of teaching.
  • The early payment discount is available for each subsequent year providing tuition fees are paid in full before the first day of teaching each year.
  • Discounts are subtracted from the cost of tuition after any scholarship has been applied.
  • Distance learning students will only be eligible for the 5% early payment discount if they pay the full cost of the course upfront.
  • Students who pay only one academic year of the programme will not be offered the discount.

Santander 5K Postgraduate Scholarship

‌A special Santander fee scholarship of £5,000 is available to study a full time Masters level programme at GCU or GCU London commencing September 2017. You must have been offered a place to study at GCU or GCU London before applying for this scholarship.

What you get 

£5,000 towards fees

Who can apply 

You MUST have been offered a place on a  GCU Masters level programme and  be from one of the following countries:

  • Uruguay

Europe

  • Belgium
  • France
  • Germany
  • Italy

No other nationalities will be considered

Santander Travel Bursary

Santander Universities Travel Scholarships of up to £1000 are available for GCU staff and both undergraduate and postgraduate students already studying at GCU.

This scholarship could fund spending a period of time, a semester or a study visit at another university within the Santander network. Alternatively it could be for a work related research project with a commercial partner or for GCU staff the scholarship can be used to enhance collaborative working within the Santander University network or attending work related conferences developing the awareness of GCU.

What do you get  

Up to £1,000 Bursary towards travel between January 2018 and May 2018

Who can apply 

GCU staff

All undergraduate and postgraduate/ PhD students.

Requirements:

Applicants applying for this scholarship must be travelling to one of the following countries or to one of the Universites in the Santander Network;

Sir Alex Ferguson Travel Bursary

The Sir Alex Ferguson Travel Scholarship and Awards Fund was established in September 2015 to support deserving students at GCU through a combination of annual access scholarships, awards, and mobility/Travel funding.

Annual Travel Bursary awards enable students to experience life-changing opportunities, including work placements, charity work and public service commitments overseas.

What you get

Up to £1000.00 towards the cost of future travel

Who can apply

All Home/RUK undergraduate and postgraduate students who are looking to travel from January 2018 to May 2018
