We'll support you all of the way

awards badgeInternational students receive a very warm welcome at Glasgow Caledonian University. We were recently ranked No.1 in the UK for international student experience by our international students in the i-graduate International Student Barometer and the prestigeous Times Education Awards names us top for Overseas Student Support.

That's why we're sure you will find being a student in Glasgow an enjoyable and rewarding experience - culturally, socially and educationally.

Excellence in education

Scottish education enjoys a coveted reputation for high quality throughout the world. Scots have placed great importance on learning for over 500 years, with Scotland being one of the first European countries to establish a quality assurance system for its educational institutions.

With an emphasis on proactive independent thinking and close links to leading companies, our education system encourages skills that are relevant, marketable and much sought after by today’s top employers.

International Student Support Services

When you enrol, you will receive a Pre-Arrival Welcome and Information Pack before you arrive in Glasgow. This will provide you with all the information you will need to know before coming to live in Glasgow. On arrival in Scotland, you will receive a welcome pack and our International Student Support Service team will offer an orientation programme for all our new overseas students, which will include a welcome event, a ceilidh and city-tour, to help you settle and find your way around.

Throughout your studies our International Student Support Services team will be available to provide advice and support on any aspect of your student experience from opening bank accounts and how to extend your visa through to more confidential issues. The team also organise year round trips and social events providing you with the opportunity to meet new friends and experience Scottish culture and tradition. Recent trips have included visits to galleries and museums in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling Castle, and overnight trips to the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
