EssentialAn honours degree or equivalent. Exceptionally candidates without formal degree qualifications but relevant experience may be admitted to the programme and their progress to MSc would depend on performance in the initial modules.
Programme Description
The programme is designed to give a deeper understanding of the inter-relationships between the environment and topics such as energy technology, environmental law, business strategies, policy and other areas. It focuses on environmental auditing, assessment and management procedures, as required by industrial and commercial bodies. Thus the programme emphasises the application of environmental knowledge, but pressures on the wider global environment are also studied. Furthermore, in order that students can better understand these applications, the basic principles of the various disciplines are also covered. The programme has a standard modular structure and a wide variety of teaching and asessment procedures are used.

Elective Modules (two to be selected each semester): Semester A: Environmental Pollution, Motintoring and Analysis, Resources and Sustainability, Environmental Planning and Impact Assessment, Sustainable Waste Management. Semester B: Water Quality and Waste Water Treatment, GIS and Environmental Management, Contaminated Land and Landfill Enginering, Renewable Energy Technologies, Energy Technology, Integrated Case Study, Advanced Waste Treatment Technologies.
MSc: In addition to requirements for PgD, students complete a major project and submit a dissertation.

Graduates have went on to work for employers including Local Authorities, regulators such as Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), Lecturing and Research and Consultancy for Private Companies.
