Why study here?

Glasgow Caledonian is a vibrant, innovative, and multi award-winning University working for the Common Good. GCU provides one of the best learning environments in the UK at our modern campus in the heart of Glasgow, voted the friendliest city in the UK (Condé Nast Traveller 2025).

GCU is a University with an impressive global network and a reputation for providing courses with a strong focus on employability, which are designed with input from industry so you can stand out in the employment market. Graduating from Glasgow Caledonian prepares you for a successful career, with 92% of our graduates in employment or further study 15 months after graduating. (HESA, 2025)

The vast majority of our graduates find work or further study within six months of graduating, and we offer a variety of innovative, specialised courses. The lecturers for your chosen course will have good industry contacts to help you with placements and future career opportunities. You’ll prepare for local and international job markets, accessing a range of services to help you showcase your professional skills, as well as activities to build your professional profile.

The hub of the campus is our striking Sir Alex Ferguson Library which houses hundreds of thousands of books and access to online resources as well as 1200 study spaces, over 350 computers, and the University’s Archives and Special Collections.

On our Glasgow campus, the courses are supported by professional facilities that give hands-on experience that will help you with your career, including a simulated hospital ward, a high-tech television and radio broadcasting suite, and the Fashion Factory where industry-standard facilities play a key part in your studies.

Glasgow Caledonian University puts a lot of effort into helping you enjoy your course and gain the professional skills and knowledge employers want.

Our single-site campus is friendly, personal and close-knit. You’ll be on first-name terms with your lecturers and the campus design makes it easy to meet friends and classmates for breaks or study sessions. Not only that, but it sits right in the middle of the city near to all transport links.

We have facilities like our Campus Life Desk - our one-stop information and support centre offering help with everything from borrowing laptops to getting Council Tax rebates.

Each school within the University has a learning development centre, which gives professional support to all students, including those with disabilities or those with specific learning or teaching needs.
