MSc Advanced Practice (Diabetes Care), a pathway within MSc Advanced Practice, is multidisciplinary, bringing together key insights from multiple fields. During this master's degree, you will learn about best practices in health management and diabetes from a broad range of perspectives.

Keeping the programme career-focused, our diabetes care master's students undertake clinical attachments at local hospitals. This opportunity helps them solidify their skills and make a positive impact on patients in a real-world setting. The final Dissertation module gives students the opportunity to obtain an enhanced understanding of an area of diabetes or to undertake a clinical audit in collaboration with local diabetes consultants.

Our graduates go on to do good work in general practice, hospitals and clinics. Some choose to study for the UK General Medical Council GMC exams (PLAB 1 and 2) and go on to work in the NHS.

MSc Advanced  Practice pathway in Travel Medicine

Applicants who have completed The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Postgraduate Diploma in Travel Medicine are eligible to apply to this pathway within the MSc Advanced Practice course.

The qualification includes a 60-credit dissertation module at GCU, completed over two trimesters in a six-month period and, in combination with the RCPSG Diploma. This new route to the master's-level qualification combines practical learning and academic rigour, allowing students the opportunity to demonstrate professionalism and ultimately protect patient safety in a unique area of clinical expertise.

MSc Advanced  Practice pathway in Wilderness and Expedition Medicine

Applicants who have completed The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons International Postgraduate Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine are eligible to apply to this pathway within the MSc Advanced Practice course.
