Indian Days
Thursday 15th and Friday 16th October 2009
ISG is planning to celebrate Diwali in grand fashion in GCU as our first event of this academy year. We are organizing two days of fun at GCU. Yes two days!!! “Indian Day” on 15th and 16th Oct 2009 to showcase rich Indian culture to GCU student’s and staff.
There will be stalls on The Saltire Centre by students showing their talents on henna tattooing, hand made accessories and more… The Stalls are open from 11.00am to 3.00pm on both days. To add more fun to this our Indian students are participating on cultural event on 16th Oct from 5.30pm in M201 (George Moore Building 2nd floor) followed by dinner. All these are for only £5.00. We though it would be really good to use this opportunity to raise funds to support disadvantaged children to get free education in India. All money raised will be given to PRATHYAASA EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE SOCIETY in India.
Tickets are in sale now. You can purchase tickets from M714 on Mon – Fri between 11.30 – 12.30pm. Also you can get the tickets from Sandhya during International coffee evening every Wednesday at M015. Tickets are also available from Students Association Reception (North Hanover Street Building).
If you are interested in participating or performing some cultural activities please contact us before 5th October.
We request all Indian Students you wear traditional dress on both days if you could. We are looking for some volunteers to help us on both days or one day which ever suits you. All volunteers get free entry.
