Student ICT Skills Unit
To be effective as a student you will need to use Information and Communications Technology (ICT) effectively. You will certainly use some general applications such as word processing, email and the internet. Depending on your programme, you may also use specialist technology and equipment. The Student ICT Skills Unit can provide you with information and support in basic, general ICT as well as helping you to gain more confidence to use ICT in other ways.
The Student ICT Skills Unit provides help and advice on many applications including:

The ICT Skills Unit also runs a Baseline Module which is self-teach non compulsory module, if you sit and pass the assessment for the module you can gain recognition on your exam transcript. In order to assess your skill level for the module you can complete the ICT Skills Self-Evaluation form which is in my.Caledonian. You just need to answer a few "Can You Do" questions and submit the form, this will give you instant feedback on your skill level and training requirements.
